SAP COACHING ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Rockdale City Suns FC are pleased to announce our 2017 SAP coaches:
SAP U9 – Bernardo Gomes Macedo
Bernardo Macedo is a soccer coach with over twenty five years of experience on the field, playing, coaching and working in sports press. Bernardo started playing futsal in Brazil in 1990 at the age of 6 years old, and since then he’s been involved in soccer training and management all his life.
His highlights as a junior soccer player are playing futsal for Clube Atlético Mineiro from U9 to U11 (one of the biggest clubs in Brazil); playing for Associação Esportiva Santa Tereza (one of the most traditional amateur clubs in Brazil, where he used to play with Adelaide United striker, Henrique Silva).
Bernardo considers discipline essential in a training session and always makes sure the players understand that and respect the routine of the training. His philosophy is based on Brazilian soccer flair and “ginga”, and currently, Pep Guardiola’s vision: ball possession and fighting to get the ball back when it’s lost. His strongest aspects as a coach are having a wide knowledge and experience in the game, with a big range of different drills and constant studying; ability to connect with the kids and make sure they understand the importance of teamwork and training procedures; engagement to the soccer game as a whole, tactics, commitment to positioning, etc; intense technique drills focusing on a perfect pass; a fun and joyful atmosphere in the group, Bernardo usually creates a great bond between the players and that reflects in the pitch.
