ILINDEN WIN ROUND 1 V MANLY

Yesterday our boys got their 2020 seaosn off to a great start following a gutsy 2-1 win over Manly United.

We always have great battles against Manly, and this fixture was no different.

We got off to a flying start when awarded a penalty for a handball.  Alec Urosevski calmly converted from the spot.

After that, and with our team on the rise, we lost in quick succession both Tomislav Arcaba and Mick Neill to first half injuries.

Manly then equalized through a penalty of their own. The teams entered the sheds locked at 1-1.

The second half saw chances at both ends with Nikola Taneski pouncing from a tight angle with what proved to be the match winning goal.

Full time and our boys secured a 2-1 win.

Our next game is away against Sutherland Sharks, Saturday 7 March 2020.
